Introduction To Sandblasting And Shot Blasting

Sandblasting, as the name suggests, is the use of compressed air as power to spray abrasives (such as quartz sand, diamond sand, etc.) onto the surface of the workpiece at high speed. Through the impact and cutting effect of the abrasives, cleaning, deburring, surface roughness and other effects are achieved. It is like a meticulous craftsman, using sand as a "miniature file" to finely carve the surface of the workpiece, making it look brand new.

And shot peening is another surface strengthening process. It uses steel shot, cast iron shot, glass shot and other pellets, which are sprayed at high speed onto the surface of the workpiece through high-pressure air or compressed air. The impact force of the pellets is used to form residual compressive stress on the surface of the workpiece, thereby improving the fatigue strength and wear resistance of the workpiece. Shot peening is more like a fitness coach, using high-intensity training to enhance the physical fitness of the workpiece.
